Thereapeutic Touch

A type of energy healing where a trained practitioner places their hands near or gently on the body of their client. Energy healing is a form of alternative medicine and helps reduce stress, anxiety, promotes deep relaxation while reducing stress hormones like cortisol, and eases discomfort from minor pain. Therapeutic touch is a power agent of healing the body because on a biochemical level it promotes the release of oxytocin, which is a crucial hormone in human bonding, and when released gives us a deeper sense of connection, well-being, and even boosts our immune system.

Breath Therapy

Life is absolutely dependent upon the act of breathing. Stress and anxiety cause our breathing to become shallow, depleting our bodies and leaving us fatigued. Breathing is one of the most important functions of the body because every major organ system depends on it. Humans can exist without food or water for periods of time, but life seizes to exist in a matter of minutes without breath.

Diaphragmatic breathing activates our relaxation response in the body and activates the vagus nerve, which is the longest cranial nerve and connects to the brain, gut, heart, liver, kidney, lungs, ears, tongue, and the list continues. It regulates the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, helping you "rest" and "digest," literally. By utilizing different therapeutic breathing techniques, a client can become increasingly mindful of their breath and learn to actively lower their heart rate, blood pressure, release happy chemicals in the body like serotonin, and re-program the body's response to stress. The act of mindful breathing is humanity's most underutilized tool, but it's the most accessible because it's directly within us, so it's up to us to use it wisely!

A movement therapy that’s rooted in Hindu spiritual tradition over 2,000 years ago. There are many branches of yoga, but the foundation of their roots begin in the adoption of specific postures for the body, meditation, and mindful breathing. Hatha yoga, which is a widely practiced form and one taught by Victoria Emanuela, is an incredibly powerful tool for transformation, relaxation, and deepening the connection between mind, body, and the universe. It asks us to bring awareness to our breath, balance to our minds, and strength to our bodies. Yoga is a powerful alternative tool for treating anxiety, trauma, and reducing stress; this 2,000 year old practice is now gaining more credibility in research than ever before because of its effectiveness, and let's be real, those ancient yogi's were right all along.
