Anti-Inflammatory Tonic for Fatigue, Anxiety and More!

Inflammation is often one of the major culprits behind fatigue, depression, anxiety, and even some chronic illnesses. If the body and brain are inflamed, especially for excess periods of time, things start to go downhill. Recent studies have shown there's a correlation between inflammation in the brain and mood disorders, which in combination with the stress of everyday life, tends to stack up against our favor. If you're prone to depression or suffer from anxiety, chances are you're probably sensitive to stress too. Stress and inflammation are best friends, they love going on road trips together, and even share the same straw. Whether it's anxiety, depression, fatigue, or physical pain you're experiencing; you're probably feeling stressed trying to get it under control. Stress raises cortisol in our bodies, and too much of this hormone can wreak havoc on our mental and physical health, especially if we don't practice self-care.

Through my personal journey in healing a chronic illness, auto-immune issues, and PTSD; I've learned that keeping your inflammation at bay first thing in the morning and throughout the day is a vital way to keep your body armed and protected.

I've made a tonic that's simple, effective, and I'm happy to share it with you!

Victoria's anti-inflammatory tonic:

My secret is organic garlic, yes, that stinky stuff you never want your breath to smell like. Not only is garlic incredible for boosting the immune system, it's a great prebiotic, awesome for cardiovascular health, powerful anti-oxidant, anti-fungal, cancer fighter, and natural antibiotic. Best of all, garlic is fantastic for fighting inflammation and the ancients used it as a sacred cure all, which maybe answers how they built all that fancy architecutre! Anyway, it's worth the stinky breath.

The other ingredients I use for this tonic are power anti-inflammatory agents like organic ginger root, turmeric root, orange, lemon, and honey (agave is fine too).

What you'll need:

  1. half an organic large sized lemon
  2. two organic oranges
  3. one inch of organic ginger root (tablespoon)
  4. one inch of organic turmeric root (tablespoon)
  5. tablespoon of honey or agave
  6. one to two cloves of organic garlic

*if you can't handle two cloves, then start with one (finely crushed or minced, do not juice unless you have a garlic press)

The reason why I don't recommend juicing garlic is because it's difficult to extract, although you can try by adding more cloves in, but individual cloves are usually too small to juice. Perhaps fancier juicers have better options, so I'll leave that up to you!

Mix it all together:

*if you do not own a juicing machine, you can use a hand held citrus juicer and a grater for the other ingredients.

  1. peel lemon and oranges, add them to your juicer
  2. add the ginger root to your juicer (no need to peel)
  3. add the turmeric root to your juicer (no need to peel)
  4. mix the juice well
  5. finely mince or crush garlic
  6. add the garlic to your juice, along with honey, mix, and sip (add filtered water if needed)

Enjoy:

It's best to drink this tonic after you've eaten breakfast because it's very strong and could cause an upset belly if there's nothing in there. The taste isn't by any means an orange creamsicle, but it sure is magic for the body, so sip and enjoy all the love you're bringing to yourself until it's the best damn thing you've ever put in your mouth!

I drink this tonic every morning after breakfast and what I've noticed is better sleep, less morning anxiety, improved mental clarity, energy, and better digestion.
